RAS Social Media
RAS uses email lists for its “official” communication. Announcements of events as well as new issues of the Newsletter are posted there. All RAS members should join the main ras@ras.groups.io list, or risk not being kept informed of upcoming activities. More information on our mailing lists can be found here:
RAS also has both a Facebook group and a BAND group. The BAND group is for B/S/T (buy/sell/trade) of fish, plants, aquarium hardware, etc. Note that Facebook does not allow selling of live animals (including fish), hence no sales are allowed there. All B/S/T activity should be taken to BAND.
RAS Facebook Group
RAS has an active Facebook group with 3500 members. Please note that while the Facebook (FB) group is part of the club, it is not the same thing as the club. The FB Group has 3500 members (from all over), whereas the club has about 250 current (dues-paying) members. It is estimated that less than 1/2 of the "core" RAS members participate in FB, so postings on FB will not be viewed by the entire club. Likewise, the the RAS mailing list has about 500 members. Hence, if you join only the email lists or only FB, you will not see all RAS activity.
RAS BAND Buy/Sell/Trade
BAND is another social media platform that RAS uses for buying/selling/trading of aquarium-related items. (FB does not allow the selling of live animals, including fish.) Join Band here.
