We’re excited to welcome RAS member Lauren Deans as our featured April speaker! Join the Raleigh Aquarium Society for our April meeting on Thursday the 2nd at 7:30PM! Lauren will be sharing insights into her successful low-tech planted aquariums—knowledge that’s sure to inspire aquarists of all levels without the need for high-tech equipment.
Lauren Deans is a Raleigh native, a long-time Durham resident, and a plant nerd at heart. She started keeping planted aquariums after watching Foo the Flowerhorn videos on Youtube while in graduate school for horticultural science. She quickly caught Multiple Tank Syndrome and has been trialing aquatic plant species and tinkering with different low-tech setups ever since. She treats her aquariums like informal experiments to see where her terrestrial plant knowledge translates to the underwater environment and where it comes up short.
Meeting held at the NCST Vet School, 1060 William Moore Dr, Raleigh, NC 27606
